October.

Seriously, where did the month go? Between school, work travel, school days off, play dates, the Children's Theater, swimming, the pumpkin patch, field trips, and Halloween prep, it just flew by.

We went to the Pumpkin Patch on what I thought was a beautifully warm day. But when we got there, the wind was freezing and not warm at all. I wanted to climb back into the car, not go out into the field.

I was lucky enough to go on two field trips this month. The first was with Owen's class to the Children's Theater to see Duck for President and then to a large park for a picnic lunch and play time. We were so very fortunate to have the most beautiful October day to spend the afternoon outside playing.

The same was not true for Reese's outdoor field trip at the Nature Center. It was much later in the month and much chillier. The kids had a great time exploring for leaves and wildlife and then inside to make cider with a really neat old fashion machine that squeezed out the juice for everyone to try.

The kids decided their costumes in September and I've been slowly working on them. Planning mostly, figuring out how I wanted to do things. Owen chose to be a mummy and EVER kid he told in the mean time all asked how we would get the toilet paper to stick to him. I had to explain to many children that mummies were not made from toilet paper. Reese a clown. Reese has always loved clowns and she thinks it's funny that some people are afraid of them....but then I see this look on her face, and I can see why...

We have lots of friends that live in the neighborhood and these are the ones that made it for pictures before we headed out:

The kids ran so fast from house to house it was a little hard to keep track of all of them. About half way though, Reese came to me and said she was done (not surprising as she practically sprinted the whole night). So we walked home and showered all of that off and dug though the goods from the night.
